If it works just fine with only the pump seal replacement,you just shoot it and have fun.
If u like tinkering. Take the gun apart completely. And wash away old gunk polish the sear and grease it up a little.
Replace anny worn o rings and u be fine for a few years.I have an 880 crossover. Die cast pump handle with brass pump tube. Got it in 77. Have the scope for it. Was thinking of converting it to tank charged vs pump.

Most of the time people are restoring sentimental BB guns from when they were kids. This is exactly how I got into this side business. I like all the generations of 880 but if you decide to rebuild or not is truly a personal choice. Likely your gun would just need the rubber components replaced to function.
Hi I recently got my old 1970’s first generetion 880 back from my parents. I want to restore it, but watching the vids, I gotta admit I’m intimidated. I’m good at taking stuff apart, but putting back togetehr? Not so much! Can I send this thing to you, along with the seal kit I bought from you, and pay you to restore it? Or, am I just making it harder than it seams, and should give it a whirl myself?

ChrisIf you have any trouble with the pump handle pin (the part that keeps the pump secure to the frame when shooting) try putting some powdered griphite around it and work it in and that will hopefully make it easier to pump. That is how I got mine to pump properly cause before it would pump but trying to get it to unlatch was extremely difficult
