Well I have tried several different ways to stop or at least lessen the wiggle on the butt stock. It is one of the biggest problems on the old style 880s. You might try using a piece of light cardboard or similar material on the part of the stock that sticks into the receiver covers. I have also heard of people using something like jb weld to build up the stock on the areas needed.

Do be careful not to get the stock too fat, as it is easy to crack the side covers when tightening the nut if you are working with plastic side covers. The steel ones are of course a little tougher.

Another option is to switch out both side covers for the new style covers and a new style butt stock, but I don’t like this option as the new butt stocks are a different shade of brown and I really don’t want to swap out metal side covers if that is what you are working with.
