I have a Daisy 880 Power King that I thought I could fix for a friend. I got the gun and a resealing kit and the kit doesn’t have the seal I need. The gun is made different from the new and old models that everyone talks about. Does anyone know where to get the rubber inlet valve part with the internal spring? Or if I can just change out the old guys of this gun with new guts and be done with it?
You have a very old 880 indeed. That gun must have been made in the early 70’s. Daisy changed that type of “inlet valve” very early on. I have that inlet valve/check valve with the spring in my parts drawer but I am not sure if it will still hold air. I assume that the valve you have has failed. If you want to swap in either of the more recent check valves you will need to swap in the corresponding “guts”. I have done that job in the past BUT I don’t remember all I had to exchange to get it done. I’m curious what type of pump arm retention system your gun has. Is it a small black plastic “C” clip that holds the pump arm?? Welcome to the real fun of this great hobby!
Stuart is correct, I have not seen the different old style seal in person, but have had a handful of people contacting me about it and a few were nice enough to send pics my way. Unfortunately I don’t know anywhere to get one, I don’t think they are made anymore and they are pretty rare.
