Hi folks.. I have an old 881 from my youth on my father’s dairyfarm (1950s and 60s).. (I’m 74 and retired) and am in need of lowering the ground squirrel population on my current small farm. I tried to register on the daisy880.net site but it thinks I’m a bot.. sorry no bot here (two artificial knees, but that’s it). Anyway, going to need some help. Never torn down a gun before (lots of engines..no guns) I found your online manual (fantastic) and videos (also fantastic). Kind of overwhelmed so would you all mind if I pestered you all on this?? Thanks

    No not at all!
I am in the same boat tho JLMissouri has not been on recently unfortunately, so hope he will be back to help you.
I have not taken my 880 apart either.
One thing tho is once you get it to work you will need to find out it’s velocity (fps) and the weight of the pellets/BB’s you will be using, once you figure all of that out enter it to a air gun calculator and see what your foot pounds of energy (fpe) are, a good one is airguncalculator.com if you get 5.5 fpe or more then you will kill a squirrel the first time in the head, if you get anything less than that you should find a different gun/air gun to use that gets more fpe.
Just my opinion from research hope can get those squirrels!
