Have watched a few different 880 disassemble/reassemble videos and have taken my 880 apart to check for broken parts but have been unable to figure out what is keeping the pump tube from staying in place after a couple of pumps. It typically gets pulled out of place by about one fourth of an inch, mid-pump on the second or third pump. I’m not entirely sure what holds the pump tube in place, but have tightened all screws to the best of my ability. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what can be done to keep the pump tube from slightly moving? I can generally fire one bb before having to reseat the pump tube to start again.

You didn’t mention which style you are working on. The new style 880 has a stamped area on the frame rail that holds the pump tube in place. The old style has a pin that goes through the bottom of the pump tube.

jlmissouri – It is the old style 880. Thanks! I will have to check to see if that pin is out of place or missing. I can see where the pump tube has a slit that looks like something should be holding it in place, but perhaps I am missing the pin and the tube has rotated a little bit. Unsure.
